Today at the College Academic Council Dr. Celestin Kurujyibwami, head of the mathematic department at the University of Rwanda, was awarded the Award for Strong Leadership and Innovation by the Principal of the College of Science, Assoc. Prof. Gatare Ignace. The award recognizes Dr Kurujyibwami leadership in his outreach work through the Rwanda Mathematics Olympiads. Congratulations!
ISP supported PhD student, Mr Batte Herbert successfully defend his PhD in Mathematics at Makerere University on Friday 14th March 2025. Dr. Batte Herbert is the first ISP locally supported student at Makerere University. Congratulations Dr. Batte.

The Department of Mathematicas at Addis Ababa University organized a school with theme "Classical and New Approaches for Modeling Life Science Problems" from 10th to 11th February 2025 and a workshop" Ethio-Italy Colloquium on Applied Mathematics (ETICAM-2)" in collaboration with Prof.  Bruno Buonomo and his colleagues from the Department of Mathematics and Applications, University of Naples Federico II, Italy, from 12th to 13th February 2025. More than 50 mathematicians participated in both the school and the workshop.
